THE END OF A TERRIFIC YEAR
What a year the Sole Sistas had in 2019. It was a year of change and growth and we are extremely grateful for all we accomplished.
Our members took part in new endeavors as we branched out to help Survivors in new ways.
Now we have a working relationship with St. Luke’s University Health Network as well as Lehigh Valley Health Network and we have been able to help many Survivors during the year.
We had our 1st Designer Purse Bingo fundraiser which was a success. We want to thank the many doctors and friends who contributed to this worthy cause. The proceeds we gained will allow us to do even more for our Survivors. We are looking forward to next year’s Bingo which we are sure will be even bigger and better.
We had a presence at the “Pink Out at the Promenade Shops” where we distributed helpful material to the attendees and where we received much positive feedback for all the services we provide to Survivors.
Once again, we were exhibitors at the Cancer Survivor Summit at De Sales University. We met many potential new members and we are staying in touch. Kathy Clinton, Director of Sole Sistas, gave a well-received talk on the “Fear of Recurrence” at the Summit.
So we come to the end of another year. We are spending this relatively quiet period continuing to help those Survivors who need us, catching up with family and looking forward to an even more exciting year.
This is a time of reflection, of being grateful for all the blessings that have been bestowed on us and the feelings of joy that only helping others can bring.
Nature covers up its bareness with a fresh mantle of snow, a pain to most of us, but the first step toward the rejuvenation of the land and a beautiful spring and new growth.
We will spend this quiet time reflecting on what we can do to help our fellow Survivors. Look for our new initiatives in future issues.
Meanwhile, we wish you Happy Holidays and much Joy in the New Year.
